My name is Miss Lynas, and I am the class teacher. I work alongside Mrs Campbell and Miss Parke, who are our classroom assistants.
In LSC1, we are mostly a mix of P1 and P2 pupils and we love to play, learn and be active. In class we use an adapted version of the Northern Ireland National Curriculum, that is tailored and adapted to suit the needs of each individual child.
Our topics this year include Marvellous Me, Autumn, Winter, People Who Help Us and The Farm. For each topic, we will have stories, arts and crafts and messy activities that enhance our knowledge of the topic.
In Literacy we will practice our Talking and Listening skills and work on our Phonics throughout the year. We also love story time for Literacy which helps engage us in the learning. In Numeracy, we are practicing our counting, developing our ability to add numbers together and developing our knowledge on shapes.
Our classroom is filled with movement time and messy play to develop our fine and gross motor skills. We develop these skills in our class every day when we have free play, when we sing and dance. At the end of our day, we spend some much-needed time relaxing together to help us unwind from a busy day.
