Miss Cochrane's Class

Welcome to P7!

My name is Miss Cochrane and I am teaching P7 this year along with Mrs Codd, Mrs McIlroy and Mrs McCullough, our classroom assistants. I am from Canada and have been living in Northern Ireland for 13 years. I am the Shared Education Coordinator this year.

In our class, we learn about everything from decimals, fractions and long multiplication, to developing our netball and tag rugby skills!

In P7 we have been working very hard on learning all about The Victorians. We have researched and made PowerPoints on Queen Victoria as well as played the kinds of games that Victorian children would play.  We have used pencils to make ourselves look like Victorian children and used bright coloured paints to create beautiful silhouette scenes from World War one for Remembrance Day.

Many of the P7 children have been studying very hard for their AQE exams which are happening over the next few weeks.

Throughout the course of the year, P7 will also be learning about Space, Flight and Titanic. We will have the opportunity to develop new skills during our Residential Trip in March, where lots of outdoor sports and team building activities will keep us very entertained. There are lots of exciting things to come, including swimming lessons and Basketball lessons as part of the Peace Players programme.
