Welcome to P5!
My name is Mrs Ford-Hutchinson, and I am the class teacher. As well as being the teacher, I also have other responsibilities in school: I am Literacy Co-Ordinator, Key Stage 2 Leader and I share the responsibility of Assessment Co-ordinator.
In our P5 classroom, we have a class mascot, Roland the rat and we have 2 fish. Our class loves animals, and we have lots of pets ourselves. We love talking and writing about them and sharing stories. Our class is very creative, and we are fantastic artists. Our class is also very kind and caring and we really help each other.
In P5 our topics are Minibeasts, Egypt, India and The Blue Planet. These give us lots of chances to learn all about the world around us through science, history and geography. We have lots of group activities: building minibeast hotels, going on minibeast hunts in the wildlife garden, making Shadufs from dowels and string, making Cartouches from clay, trying Indian foods on India day – there are just so many things that we have done! Our class also really loves PE and we have learnt skills in basketball, football, dance and gymnastics so far. We can’t wait to go swimming in Term 3!
